Within the HolisticPainTherapy approach, Pain is understood as the body's protective warning system, alerting us to potential harm. All joint movements involve at least two muscles: the agonist (prime mover) and the antagonist (opposing muscle). Pain in the musculoskeletal system often occurs when opposing muscle pairs generate varying degrees of tension.
Pain commonly results from muscles functioning improperly due to incorrect muscular-fascial tension patterns. Limited movement or repetitive one-sided movement can lead to fascial and muscular constrictions. These constrictions may threaten joint integrity, prompting the body to generate what we term AlarmPain.
At HolisticPainTherapy, we utilise a specialised pressure point technique called Osteopressure. This approach aims to ease tension within your body and address problematic tension patterns. When the affected muscle achieves proper balance and no longer signals potential danger, the AlarmPain response may diminish. This process can mark the beginning of your journey towards a PainFree future.
